Determining Target Companies

Hiring managers (and many recruitment professionals) often allow the quiet assumption of an endless supply of passive prospects to exist. The conversation (or inner monologue) can become, “Post the job (for millions to see) and search LinkedIn since that database has over 500 million users.” Alternatively, a great deal of logic and “power” awaits the recruiter who leads their hiring manager in defining specific target companies known to employ the people who are suitable for consideration. As opposed to the notion of “post and pray,” where you go out into the market through job boards to see who might be paying attention, this course teaches you strategies and resources to find companies that are known to employ the talent you seek.

Learning Objectives

Determine how many companies you need to target to yield the right number of qualified candidates to consider.

Identify and determine companies not known to you (outside of your competitors), in your backyard and elsewhere in the market, that possess the talent you seek.

Execute a Regression Analysis, an innovative approach to determine the former employers of selected individuals (current prospects or current incumbents at target companies or your company) that will further open the doors to additional talent and new companies to target.
